- Aaron Wise is an Emmy nominated cinematographer. Specializing in Stop-Motion, Puppets, Tabletop, Miniatures, VFX and Toys. He was born in Portland Oregon. Earned a BFA in Film/Video from Calarts. Early in his career he worked as a camera assistant, he then spent almost ten years repairing and modifying motion picture film cameras at Clairmont Camera. Including R&D on their Arriflex 435 2-perf movement. After several years working as a camera operator on stop-motion TV shows Wise was hired to shoot season 8 of Robot Chicken. He received a daytime Emmy nomination in cinematography for Buddy Thunderstruck. His work on this show was covered in the April 2017 issue of American Cinematographer Magazine. Recent work includes; shooting miniatures for The Cuphead Show and Hellraiser (2022). Stop motion sequences for Animaniacs, The Patrick Star Show, Ron Howard’s Emmy winning Jim Henson Idea Man, Sandy’s County Christmas (a SpongeBob Christmas special) and stop-motion Barbie and Monster High work for Mattel. Wise is a member of the Television Academy of Arts and Sciences in both Cinematography and Animation peer groups and The International Cinematographer’s Guild IATSE Local 600.
